Summer is finally here and so is patio season. As recent COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we are finally returning to normalcy in Toronto. With the opening of patios during stage 2 of Ontario’s 3-step plan in action this past week, the city’s nightlife is starting to come alive. Here are the top seven bars in the GTA that you must try this summer. 

Cabana

One of the most popular pool bars in Toronto is Cabana. Located on Polson St., Cabana gives a staycation feel to a night out with a large outdoor patio. This is also one of the most popular bars in the GTA.

This patio offers a beautiful view of the city located right next to Lake Ontario. Cabana is currently open every day of the week featuring themed events, such as Tuesday movie nights and brunch Sundays. Its menu provides both food and drinks, including crispy chicken sandwiches, lime and chilli salmon, tangerine margaritas, peach berry sangria, Mojitos.

Lavelle

If you’re looking for an exciting night out, Lavelle is the place to socialize with new people and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. The perfect photo opportunity that is to die for!

Baro is a four-storey establishment, each floor being a distinct part of the restaurant. Due to COVID-19, only the patio is open for brunch and dinner. Typically, the first floor of the bar is the dining area and the second floor is the snack bar with Latin-inspired dishes created by Chef Steve Gonzalez. The third floor is for event bookings and the fourth floor is the rooftop patio. 

The patio is surrounded by glass windows and decorated with greens and basket weaved décor, giving an exotic, modern feel. 

Its menu includes dinner, brunch, dessert, snack bar and drinks all inspired by Latin cuisine.

Kost

Kost is located in Toronto’s entertainment district on the 44th floor of the Bisha Hotel. The rooftop pool and patio bar are inspired by Baja Peninsula allowing for a vacation escape. Guests can dine and make reservations to use the pool and pool chairs.
